Valentines Dinner

So tonight we had an early Valentines dinner at one of our favourite restaurants, the Mahle house.
Thanks to my parents (they gave us a gift certificate); it was a great meal and a wonderful evening.
We started with a great romaine salad with blue cheese, pecans and beets, and lamb carpacchio.

Winter Pruning

We got our winter pruning started this weekend, finished the first 9 rows of our cab-foch.  Thanks to Robin and Katherine for the help.  It’s a little slower then our other vineyards, but it incorporates both the cutting and tieing down the vines so we are eliminating the second step.

Wow, after a brief bit of snow it’s back to warm and sunny here in the Cowichan Valley.  Perfect weather for winter pruning which we will be starting this weekend.
Also getting our wines ready to bottle in March, so it will be a busy month.
