February Blahs….

It’s February and I’m definately getting tired of winter.

Yes I know anyone in Canada other than Vancouver Island will think it’s preposterous that anyone in Canada’s Banana belt is complaining about winter, but I’ve had enough of it this year.

After all the snow in December/January I’m quite ready not to touch my snow shovel for another year.

Yes, I grew up in the Ottawa valley, where we routinely got huge dumps of snow, and frigid weather (-40), but I’m really looking forward to spring, and getting back outside more.

The good news is our 2008 products are pretty much ready to bottle, and they’ve turned out really, really well.   After a lot of worry over the weather last year we’ve got some really nice products to offer - all of which have preliminary acceptance for VQA.

Our Rose is fabulous - I’m really excited as this is the first rose I’ve made and it turned out beautifully

Our Ortega is great, as always - no surprise there as Ortega is the first to ripen and wasn’t a concern.

Our Pinot Gris has beautiful granny smith apple aromas, which have really developed nicely over the past month.

Our Pinot Noir from 2007 is looking like a real show-stopper as well.  Really nice aromas, and beautifully balanced.

All in all, I’m really excited by what we will have to offer this summer.  All of our wines are better than last years, which is remarkable considering the weather we had to deal with.

We’re open 4 days a week this summer, and we are going to open select weekends before then  - like this valentines day weekend we will be open both Saturday and Sunday, so keep an eye on our home page where we will post if we are going to be open.
