"from corporate suits to gumboots"
We have always focused on the quality of the wines and winning awards; but this really is our story. We do a lot of the "corporate" and "gumboots" every day at the winery. So as things are changing with us this year, we decided to try a unique pairing that goes from gumboots to corporate suits. We are open until 4 pm but many asked us to be open later. So upon your request, we want to do something very unique from any other food and wine pairing. Many people also want some food during that time. Just like Mark and I went out for drinks and appies with our coworkers after a day at the office, that's what we plan to do. We are in the planning stages and timing on things but we hope to have this tasting as a prebooked one hour tour with a minimum booking of 15 people to go ahead with this. This experience will be $30 per person. Closed for the season on this. Stay tuned for next year.
It starts in the vineyard and that's why we put gumboots on first. When you arrive you will have a quick cocktail to start off the experience. This will give you time to find the right gumboots for you. We will then proceed to the estate vineyard. We hope this experience will give you great memories and fantastic pictures.
If you haven't heard this terminology, you will have a chance to experience what we mean by terroir and our terroir-driven wines. We usually don't let anyone in our vineyards so this is a unique experience. You will see what the vineyards are doing during the season, so you can book this another time and see how the vineyard changes. We made the choice to make the wines according to what mother nature gives us, and you will see how we decide things. Then we will kick off those boots and don our corporate suits to go back to the tasting room.
Wine and food pairings happen regularly. But some of you may not know what the process is when we sit down with the chef and organize a winemaker's dinner. You will experience how decisions are made. We will be having 3 wines with an appy to taste and this will change regularly. We will let you experience the flavour of the wine before and after the food. Also, we will give you a unique experience because you will experience how some foods can conflict with the wines. We will also find some interesting private library wines during the year. You will be surprised with this pairing and hopefully learn and taste things you've never experienced before.
