Over the past couple of weeks we’ve been busy plowing ahead with our planting. We now have 2 acres of grapes planted (foch) and 2 acres of cultivated blackberry plants. Today we have a fencing contractor putting up our deer fencing (deer love grapes). It’s been a very late spring, which has helped us get everything done before the grapes/blackberries got going, but will probably cause us more stress in the fall as we wait for the grapes to ripen again…. Hope for a nice long warm summer! We are also sourcing some grow tubes, not so much for their ability to help the grapes accelerate their growth (although it would be a nice bonus) but for their ability to come between the grapes and the rascally rabbits….
