In memory of José Rodrigo whose dream was to grow Spanish grapes in the Cowichan Valley. This is a wine made with a thank you gift for helping out and instead of a private personal made this a wine that will continue to be a donation wine.  So the wine was not made this year as a single varietal but included in the blend On The Mark.  It still holds true to the story and we will always have a special spot in our story for this grape.

Because José passed away from cancer and never got to see his grapes harvested into this wine, we feel that we also need to give back. This story has been touched by cancer, so we are now supporting The Canadian Cancer Society and will donate $10 of every bottle of this wine to aid in the fight against cancer through the Tour De Rock.

This is a rare wine and 100% Vancouver Island grown Tempranillo grape for the region. This is a special grape because of its story personally and the elusiveness of the grape. It’s a richer red that will grow here; however, may not always ripen. Our passion is to make a this beautiful red wine that is true to the region. It takes work to make this wine and we don’t blend the grape but showcase it.

Enjoy the hard work, dedication and passion. Savour this wine alone but we also do have somesuggestions. This wine will have characteristic flavours of plum cherry and strawberry with that earthy minerality that is so much a part of our region. Cheers
