What a weekend…  We had planned some bottling on Friday, when a major wind storm blew onto Vancouver Island and wiped out power to many places, including us.

Fortunately we had partial power, thanks to the generator we bought when we were moving the winery, but that only provides minimal power, not enough to run a bottling line.  So after coffee, and finding out that the power outage might be awhile, we postponed the action until Monday.  After 12 hrs, the power was finally on again.  Thankfully we hadn’t actually started up the bottling line yet, I wouldn’t want to have to shut down & clean up mid-stream unless we absolutely had to.

A shout out to our friends (you know who you are!) who came by both Friday and Monday to help…  It’s always fun bottling with friends - seems much less like work.
