Wine Tasting

Last night I was conducting a wine tasting seminar at Black Door Decor in Ladysmith. It was a lot of fun for me, so thanks to everyone who came - lots of good questions to keep the evening entertaining. A key recommendation I made to the participants was that there are two items critical to really enjoying your wines, an appropriate decanter (for reds) and good glassware. I used to be a big skeptic, but having tried side by side comparisons of several wines in a variety of glasses, I’m now convinced that drinking out of cheap glassware adversely affects the wine experience. We’ve purchased all new Riedel glasses for our tasting room as a result.
