Katherine’s Sparkle

Silver Medal Northwest Wine Summit

Something new has arrived! Katherine’s Sparkle.  This is our second daughter and we have named our first ever sparkling after her.  This is our harvest line of labels which are the fun and playful side of products.  These releases are based on each harvest year.

Katherine’s Sparkle was created from Harvest 2008.  This is our first release for sparkling.  The winemaker is very excited about this wine.  The wine is crisp and elegant.  It is a Brut and not tradtional grapes but Ortega, Gewurtz and Bacchus.

It has the beautiful nose of Gewurtz.  It has lingering bubbles that last a long time and the flavours of the Ortega and Bacchus come through well.  Come give it a try.  Small releases this year.

Start off with some wonderful seafood, then try it with Jerk Chicken, Dim Sum or Sushi.  End it off with fresh fruit, cheeses and of course chocolate!  Cheers!

We no longer have any more sparkling at the winery.  You can find our sparkling at the Liquor Plus stores, including the new store in Duncan.  There are also a few cases at a couple of other stores…call our winery for further information of other stores.

Rated an 87 by John Schreiner and quoted to say “a great crowd pleaser’.  “Brilliant” by Rod Phillips.  Jurgen Gothe had great things to say as well in his article in the Georgia Strait.  It was a hit at the Cowichan Wine & Culinary Festival launch!  Troy Townsin talked about this sparkling as a great gift idea on CBC radio.

Due to the demand, we are definitely making this one again.  The next release will be in September.
